Title: Dispatcher Co-ordinator

Mid Star has a Canada-wide network with facilities that span across Canada with strategically positioned yards in Vaughan ON, Calgary AB and Delta BC. Responsibilities:
- Trace driver locations via our GPS system to monitor and ensure all units are on schedule for delivery and pickup appoints and identify potential delays caused by truck problems, lateness or accidents and create a solution to meet delivery time (sending driver direct, etc)
- Track and Trace Inbound/Outbound trailers with shipments leaving the yard by reviewing Trips through the “Xpert” operating system to ensure drivers will meet their scheduled arrival times.
- Provide Tracking Matrix Updated for specified clients (FLS & VK) – found in Dispatch Folder.
- Respond promptly by acknowledging a customer’s shipment/tracking requests (via phone and or email).
- Coordinate with the Dispatch & Custom Brokers to ensure that customs paperwork is received for clearance 2 hrs prior to driver’s arrival at the border and it has been accepted.
- Request and make all local delivery appts and deliveries, co-ordinate with Yard (Artur).
- Responsible for collecting and reviewing driver trip sheet that all “Original” PODs, and trip #’s are on the trip sheet and that the POD’s are legible to submit to planner and accounting for driver payment. If not Trip Sheet will be rejected
- Upload all legible PODs by Trip number into Public POD folder and attached the Trip # in Xpert System.
- Work with Yard and shunter to do a daily yard check and record trailer #’s of Mid Star trailers as well as “Lenders”, this needs to be submitted to Dispatch at the end of every shift.
- Maintain high compliance of dispatch standards and operating procedures and help enforce policies and procedures.
- Collaborate and offer assistance to other team members in delivering optimal transportation service solutions.
- Involvement in updating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain and record work or services performed, rate charges, accessorial charges, and other dispatch information within our operating system for accurate information to the accounting to for invoicing and driver Trip sheets.
Requirements:
- Work Hours will be Monday to Friday 5pm to midnight, Saturday from 9am to 4pm between offices located at 100 Bass pro Drive, Concord
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in trucking industry and/or dispatch experience is preferred
- Ability to manage high-stress situations, calmly and effectively
- Detail oriented with good time-management, and the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word)
- Knowledge of Xpert IT is an asset
- Knowledge and prior use of Load Link and PC Miler an asset
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. Geography
- Aptitude to work autonomously, with accuracy and effective execution and with little direction
- Ability to learn a new software quickly
- Exceptional verbal and written communication a must
